Clinics - A Simple, Direct & Effective Approach to Riding

Eric Horgan has conducted clinics in the U.S. for noted stables and trainers for over 20 years. His clinics provide a simple, direct and effective approach to riding in the classical style. Eric is increasingly in demand among riders who wish to expand their dressage and show jumping expertise, as well as those interested on eventing.

Young riders and adults alike find Eric's approach to instruction both practical and enlightening. Sessions - typically conducted over three days - are structured progressively, advancing to the level where horses and riders perform correctly and with confidence. He works with small groups of riders who are at similar levels and also will provide private instruction. When appropriate, he will ride a student's horse to diagnose specific training challenges and help the rider develop more effective techniques.

(See Schedule for upcoming clinic dates and locations.)

Event Organizing & Course Design

Eric is available to consult with event organizers and course designers in the U.S.  He is the former director of the Punchestown (Ireland) CCI** and, from 1995 to 1999, he directed the Blarney International Three-Day Event (CCI**), held in Ireland at Blarney Castle, site of the legendary “Blarney stone.”  He has extensive experience organizing national and international competitions in Europe, and in designing and overseeing construction of cross-country and show jumping courses.  He has designed the cross-country course at Punchestown and is a former member of the Senior Panel of Show Jumping Course Designers in Ireland.
